What this site does with what you tell it
TODO(fact): effective date. This page describes how Volta Garage Door Repair handles the small amount of information this website can receive. It is written to match what the site actually runs, rather than to cover things it does not do.
The short version
This is a brochure site with one form on it. The form asks for a name, a phone number, which job you need, when you would like to be rung, and anything else you want to add. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no payment taken anywhere.
There is no email address here
Deliberately. No address is published, no address is asked for, and no field on this site accepts one. If you would like a written record of a conversation, ask on the phone and we will arrange it another way. Nothing on this site signs you up to a list, because there is no list.
What the callback form does
It validates what you typed in your own browser and shows you a confirmation. At the time of writing it has no submission target: the details are not transmitted, not stored on a server, and not passed to anyone. Until that changes, the telephone number at the top of every page is the only route that reaches a person.
Analytics, pixels and chat widgets
None are installed. No tag manager, no advertising pixel, no heatmap recorder, no chat bubble, no third-party script that watches how you move around. We are not describing an opt-out because there is nothing running to opt out of.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own and shows no cookie banner, because it would have nothing to ask consent for. The web framework the site is built on may use ordinary browser storage to serve pages correctly. None of it identifies you and none of it follows you off this site.
Embedded maps
Two pages embed a map frame so you can see roughly where we work. That frame is served by a third party and, like any embedded content, it can see that your browser requested it. If you would rather it never loaded, the address and telephone number are written out as plain text beside every map for exactly that reason.
Links that leave this site
A directions link and the social links in the footer hand you to sites we do not run. Once you are there, their rules apply and ours stop. Worth a look at their own policies before you type anything into them.
Anyone under eighteen
This site is aimed at people arranging work on a building they are responsible for. It is not directed at children and nothing here is designed to collect information from them.
Keeping it safe
The less a site holds, the less there is to lose, which is the main reason this one holds almost nothing. What reaches us by telephone is treated as a job record: the address the work is at, what the door was doing, and what we did about it. Those are kept for as long as the job and its follow-up need them, and no longer. Nothing is sold, rented or handed to a marketing partner, because there is no marketing partner.
Changes
If the site starts doing something different — a form that actually sends, for instance — this page gets rewritten to say so before that goes live, not afterwards.
